The Lilac Sanctuary
The Lilac Sanctuary is located only 40 km from Plovdiv, in the foothills of Sarnena Sredna Gora. The only preserved megalithic stele in Bulgaria is located here - the Solar Stele. The megalithic site is between the villages of Babek and Svezhen. Since ancient times, the area has been a sacred place for the Thracians, who worshiped the Mother Goddess.

According to Bulgarian trichologists, this is the first established political and religious center of the Thracian tribe Odrisi, where there was probably a para-dynastic home.
On a path between the rocks, about 50 meters southeast of the sanctuary, in a specially made "bed" in the rocks, stands a 2.5 meter high stone stele in the shape of a flame.
Its face faces south and a horizon towards the valley can be seen from it.

The Snake's Egg
The only discovered well-preserved megalithic "egg" on the territory of Bulgaria is located not far from the village of Svezhen. It is called the "Snake's Egg" because of the names of the neighboring hills - Mount Zmeiovets and Mount Samodivets - names of fantastic creatures that came from ancient times and remained in Bulgarian folklore and toponymy.

The "Egg of the Serpent" is reached by an ancient Roman road, in places beautifully preserved. The fact that the sacred stone "egg" is next to the road shows that respect was paid not only by the people of the area but also by those traveling from east to west and back along the ancient sub-Balkan road.
For the Thracians, it is the Cosmic Egg (or sphere) from which life is born. They probably performed rituals before him and offered him gifts.

The Sun door with The Sun Disc

Kutela
This strange cup of giants is located a few kilometers from the village of Rozovets, on the way to Mount Bratan. Its scale is large - a person, even several people, can easily enter it. It is extremely correct, and near it are the remains of a second similar cup. The local people call it Kutela, because, for a long time, it was believed that it dates from the 9th century and served as a baptistery.

Today, however, this version is considered unreliable, because the extremely heavy object is too complicated to make, and it is also located in the middle of the forest - far from settlements. It was also described by the Estonian archaeologists Shkorpil brothers.
It was broken into pieces, but in the 1970s it was rebuilt. It looks almost like a cup and has handles on the side. Its height is 1.5 meters, depth is 1.1 m.
The walls are 40 cm thick. The bottom of the recess has a diameter of 50 cm. It is assumed that in this huge vessel, the ancient Thracians performed some of their rituals and libations.
