Sofia Airport ski transfers: Borovets from €70, Bansko from €100, Pamporovo from €160 per vehicle. Fixed price, no prepayment, 24/7.
Most skiers who fly to Bulgaria land at Sofia Airport, and the first thing they ask us is how long the drive will take after the flight. The answer depends on the resort: Borovets is about an hour and a half away, Bansko a little over two hours, Pamporovo about three and a half. This guide gives you the Unitrans prices for all three, the roads we use in winter, and what to expect if your flight lands late or your group travels with a lot of kit.
The Bulgarian ski season usually opens in mid-December and runs to late March or early April. Saturdays are changeover day in most hotels, and the weeks around Christmas, New Year and the February half-term are the busiest of the winter. If your flights are booked, book the transfer too: the price is fixed, there is no prepayment, and the vehicle is held for your date.
Prices come from the Unitrans price list and are per vehicle, not per person. The price is the same from Sofia Airport and from an address in the city, and a night ride costs the same as a day ride.
* No prepayment: you pay the driver. Staying in Samokov and skiing in Borovets? Samokov is the same price as Borovets (€70/90/100, about 65 km).

Borovets is the easy choice after a late landing or with small children. The road runs past Iskar lake and through the town of Samokov, then climbs the last few kilometres to the resort. On a snowy evening the driver takes it slowly, so allow a little more than the hour and a half on the map.
Bansko is the biggest ski town in Bulgaria and the most popular with groups from the UK and Ireland. From the airport we take the Struma motorway south to Simitli, cross the Predela pass and drop down to Razlog and Bansko. If your apartment is in Razlog, see our page on the Razlog taxi transfer. For more about the resort itself, read Skiing in Bansko.
Pamporovo is the furthest from Sofia. The road follows the Trakia motorway to Plovdiv, then climbs through Asenovgrad and Chepelare. If you can fly into Plovdiv instead, the drive is roughly half as long: see our Plovdiv ski transfer guide.
Many ski flights land in the evening or at night. Our dispatch centre works 24/7 and the driver knows your landing time. Give us your flight number when you book. We track the flight, and if it is late the driver waits at the airport at no extra cost and with no time limit. There is no need to call us from the baggage hall.
If we collect you from a hotel or flat in Sofia instead, the driver waits 15 minutes at the address. If you know your arrival terminal, add it to the booking.
Skis, boards and boot bags take more room than suitcases. Tell us how many people and how many ski bags you have when you book. Four adults with skis often travel better in a minivan than in a car, and the price difference is small.
For larger groups, ski clubs and school trips we have minibuses and coaches. Our fleet has around 200 cars, 50 minivans, 100 buses and 20 S- and E-class cars, so we can also send several vehicles to meet the same flight. For more than 8 people the price is on request, based on the group and the luggage.
On departure day leave a margin: the drive, possible snow on the pass or around Samokov, and at least two hours at the airport. Tell us your departure time and we will suggest when to leave. The return price is confirmed when you book. Route pages: Borovets to Sofia Airport, Bansko to Sofia Airport and Pamporovo to Sofia Airport.
Bookings are taken in English by phone, or in the chat in your language.
