Golden Sands and Albena are on the northern Black Sea coast, just north of Varna – the far end of the country if you land in Sofia. If your flight lands in Sofia, the resorts are almost 500 km away. A train or bus takes you to Varna, and from there you still need a taxi to the hotel. A private transfer picks you up at arrivals and drops you at the hotel door in about 6 hours, with one fixed price for the whole car. Landing at Sofia Airport
Send us your flight number when you book. We track the flight, and if it lands late the driver waits at no extra cost and with no time limit. The driver can meet you with a name sign at arrivals, helps with the luggage and speaks English. You go straight to the hotel – no bus station, no change in Varna.
There are two main ways from Sofia to the northern coast: east on the Trakia motorway past Plovdiv to Burgas and then north along the coast, or north-east via Veliko Tarnovo and Shumen to Varna. The driver chooses by traffic, roadworks and weather. The price stays the same whichever road he takes. Six hours is a long drive, so stopping is normal: tell the driver when you need a coffee, a toilet or a break for the children, and he will stop at a safe petrol station. Going back to Sofia
Our price list runs from Sofia and Plovdiv to the resorts. For the way back the price is confirmed when you book – call us and we will tell you before you confirm. For a flight from Sofia, plan about 6 hours on the road and at least 2 hours at the airport: for a 2 pm flight you leave the hotel at around 6 am. We drive day and night, so an early pick-up is not a problem.
