Sofia Airport to Borovets: 70 € car (up to 4), 90 € minivan (up to 6), 100 € minibus (up to 8); about 75 km and 1 h 30 min.
We drive 24/7 and there is no prepayment. If your flight is late, the driver waits at the airport free of charge, and child seats cost nothing extra. Prices are per vehicle and come from the Unitrans price list for Sofia Airport.
The price is for the whole vehicle, not per person: four people in a car pay 17 € each, and a group of eight in the minibus about 12 € each. From anywhere in Sofia the price list gives the same figures. Samokov, at the foot of the mountain, is also 70 / 90 / 100 €. Over 8 people: price on request.

About 75 km and 1 h 30 min. The car leaves the airport, skirts the east of Sofia through Pancharevo, follows the Iskar reservoir and climbs through Samokov to Borovets. It is a mountain road, not a motorway. On a clear day the time in the price list holds; in heavy snow it takes longer, and we plan the pick-up around your landing time, not the other way round.

At the exit of the arrivals hall of your terminal, Terminal 1 or Terminal 2. Before you fly you receive the driver’s phone number, so you can call or message as soon as you are through with your luggage. Ski bags often come out at a separate belt and take longer; there is no need to hurry.
Give us your flight number when you book. We track the flight, and if it lands late the driver waits at the airport at no extra cost and with no time limit. The price stays the same. At a hotel or home address the free waiting time is 15 minutes.
Yes. Ski and snowboard bags are no problem; what matters is space. Two or three people with skis fit in a car (70 €). Four people with skis need a minivan (90 €), because four suitcases and four ski bags do not fit in a sedan. Five to eight skiers with kit: the minibus (100 €). Tell us the number of ski bags and boot bags when you book.
Yes. Unitrans is pet friendly. Tell us the size of your dog or cat when you book, so we send a vehicle with enough room. Our partners at YesTrans have a separate guide for Sofia Airport to Borovets with a dog.
There is no prepayment. You know the price when you book and you pay the driver at the end of the trip. Snow, traffic or a night landing do not change it.
There is no direct public transport from Sofia Airport to Borovets. By bus you first go into Sofia, then to Samokov, then up to the resort, with suitcases and skis at every change, and you need to check each carrier’s timetable yourself. A hire car means driving a mountain road in winter conditions and finding parking at the hotel. A transfer takes you from the terminal exit to the hotel door in one go, at a price you know before you fly. For a family or a group of four or more, the cost per person is often close to that of other options.
Borovets is not only a winter resort. In summer it is the usual starting point for Musala, the highest peak in the Balkans, and hotels in the resort host conferences and team events all year. The price from the airport is the same in every month. For a group, the minibus for up to 8 is often the simplest option.
Book the return the same way, by phone or chat. The price list for Sofia Airport is for trips from the airport, so for Borovets to the airport we give you the price before you confirm. See also the route page Borovets – Sofia Airport. In winter, leave Borovets about four hours before an international flight.
From Plovdiv and Plovdiv Airport to Borovets the price list gives 90 / 120 / 140 € (about 125 km, 2 h): see Plovdiv ski transfer. All three ski resorts from Sofia Airport side by side: Sofia Airport ski transfer 2026/27.
