Taxi Transfer Sofia airport to Sarnitsa

Sarnitsa is a small mountain town in the Western Rhodopes, in the area of Dospat and Velingrad. There is no fast public connection from Sofia Airport, so most people coming from abroad either rent a car or book a transfer. With a transfer you leave the terminal and arrive at your house in Sarnitsa without changing buses in Sofia or Velingrad.

The route

From the airport the car takes the Trakia motorway east, leaves it towards Velingrad and continues south through the mountains. The distance is about 180 km. The first half is fast motorway, the last part is a winding Rhodope road through forest, so count on around three hours in good weather.

Night arrivals and winter

Many flights to Sofia land late in the evening. The driver meets you at the arrivals exit of Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 and follows your flight, so give us the flight number when you book. In winter the mountain section can be covered with snow; we plan the departure with extra time and drive carefully, without hurry.

Visiting family or holidays in the Rhodopes

A lot of our passengers to Sarnitsa come home for the holidays with big suitcases. If you are four people with heavy luggage, choose a minivan – it is more comfortable than a full sedan on the long mountain road. We can also stop on the way if you need to.
